Janaye Henry

Janaye Henry (Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa) is a comedian, writer, actor and theatre-maker residing in Tāmaki Makaurau. A self-described a "clown by nature, comedian by nurture", her work spans devising, performing, and facilitating projects that empower rangatahi and champion curiosity.

A 2023 Billy T Award nominee at the NZ International Comedy Festival, Janaye has appeared in numerous local and international productions including Time Bandits, Far North, and My Favourite Dead Person. Her writing credits include The Spinoff, Ahikāroa, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Only in Aotearoa, and Taskmaster NZ.

Most recently seen on Celebrity Treasure Island, Janaye continues to advocate for Māori, queer, and youth-focused storytelling — ensuring young audiences see themselves reflected in stories full of joy, play, and possibility.
