Simone Nathan

A Nickelodeon Writing Program Fellow, Simone has built a career that spans the New Zealand and international comedy landscape. She is best known in NZ as the creator and star of Kid Sister, the wildly popular semi-autobiographical comedy produced for TVNZ.

Her international writing credits include serving as a Co-Producer and Staff Writer on HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death, working on Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, and spending time in the writers’ room on Netflix’s Bloodline. She has also written on several shows in the UK, most recently an adaptation of The Rachel Incident, a New York Times bestselling novel by Caroline O’Donoghue, and the BBC’s critically acclaimed comedy We Might Regret This. She has also developed pilots and screenplays with Apple TV, Sony and Disney.

Simone received her MFA from NYU’s Graduate Dramatic Writing Program at Tisch School of the Arts, where she was awarded the Venable Herndon Award for Excellence in Screenwriting.

Simone is now back on home soil and actively developing new work for both local and international audiences.
